Bernette is the more affordable line from Bernina, the Swiss maker, with machines designed in Switzerland and built in Asia. The range covers simple sewing machines such as the b33 and b35, the computerised b38 with its thread cutter and tie-off, overlockers such as the b44 and the air threading b68, and the b79 sewing and embroidery machine at the top. Bernette machines generally do not share Bernina's presser foot system, so do not assume Bernina feet will fit; check the manual or a dealer.
